I live near Lakewood, NJ and have a dream of owning a home.<br />I work in the catering industry on a modest income so it seemed like it has always been out of reach.<br />lately I have been doing my research and it seems that if I have some discipline I can afford a new home because of these horrible market conditions! (to think, me, Haim Zarif, owning a home!)<br />I dont care if anyone reads my blog &amp; I doubt anyone will. What I care about is 24 months from today - October 16th 2013 - I will sit here with my wife and 2 kids in my new home reading about our journey and feeling truly accomplished.<br /><br />My goal is to be able to afford a $300,000 home with 20% down.<br />Right now I have $17,000 in savings &amp; $2750 in debt.<br /><br />So essentially I need $60,000 - $17,000 + 2750 = $45750.<br /><br />I have been looking at programs which have grants &amp; it seems that because I have a "lower" income I may be eligible for about $20,000 in grants.<br /><br />All in all I need $25,750.<br /><br />I am aware there are other costs - closing insurance etc but to keep myself encouraged at least for the first few months I am going to make believe they dont exist.<br /><br /><br /><br />I get paid biweekly &amp; need to save $532 per pay period to achieve this goal.<br />it will be hard but worth it :)<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/9039245255188496231-3753185375651647990?l=haimzarif.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>haim zarifhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10531204966432154011noreply@blogger.com0
